John Paulsen and Keith Baker started performing professionally in the Spring of 1974 as "Paulsen & Baker." John Garvey joined them in the Fall of that year, and they became "Paulsen Baker & Garvey."
The band's tight three-part harmonies include music from the Kingston Trio, James Taylor, the country sounds of Waylon & Willie, and great rock & roll from the Beatles to the Eagles.
Their wide range of instruments and vocal diversity produces the band's unique sound. John Paulsen's ballads, banjo, and fiddle tunes, Keith Baker's sweet voice and quick wit, and John Garvey's resonant bass voice produce a synergy, a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
